Miley Cyrus defends her reputation: I’m not ‘just this ratchet white girl’
The 20-year-old singer maintains that she is still one of the most productive young celebrities working today and that her image doesn’t affect her work ethic.
Despite her provocative outfits, twerking and sexy music videos, Miley Cyrus says she doesn't deserve to get a bad reputation.
"I work really, really hard. I'm just in a different environment," the 20-year-old singer said in an interview with Notion magazine
"People have this misconception of me that I'm just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I'm just this ratchet white girl, and I'm not."
Cyrus remains one of the hardest-working celebrities under 21, and she's currently about to release her fourth studio album, which reportedly boasts collaborations with big-time music producers like Pharrell.
"I'm young and living and in L.A., which is everyone's dream, you know," she tells the mag. "I'm living it to the fullest."
The "We Can't Stop" singer revealed to the mag that she is very conscious of her brand and image. She even almost dropped her last name.
"I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley, but there's something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name," she said.
"Rather than taking a blessing and making it a curse, it's just like this is what this name is now …But I think my name means something - it represents something more than just what the media tries to make of it."
